Joan McGavinJoan McGavin is an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Winchester and is on the committee of Writers in Southampton. Her poetry has appeared in Peterloo 3, Poems in Waiting Room and on Radio 4’s Poetry Please.

Recent news

  • Joan McGavin has a poem linked to a film in the Southampton Film Week

  • Joan McGavin has been selected to be the Hampshire Poet for 2014. She will also be involved with the Winchester Poetry Festival from 12th to 14th September.

  • Joan McGavin has become a trustee for the new Winchester Poetry Festival, which will start in September 2014.

  • Joan McGavin was runner up in the High Cross House poetry competition run by the National Trust.

  • Joan McGavin was the Course Tutor for a five day poetry course at Le Moulin in Normandie in June.

  • Joan McGavin, who was recently highly commended in the Bishop’s Castle Arts Festival Poetry Competition, has been invited to be a trustee on the new Winchester Poetry Festival, which will start in 2014.
