Simon Williams and Susan Taylor are launching a new poetry publication next month, called ‘Broadsheet’. The first issue will include poets reading at the Exeter Poetry Festival and poets from Devon and Cornwall. The Oversteps poets represented in this first issue are: Jennie Osborne, Rebecca Gethin and Alwyn Marriage.
Graham High and Alwyn Marriage will be reading at St Nicholas Church, Salthouse, Norfolk at 6.30pm on Friday 23rd August. There will also be an exhibition of Graham’s paintings and sculpture in the church.
Alwyn Marriage will be reading at the Festival of Spirituality and Peace at St John’s, Edinburgh, at 2.00pm on Monday 12th August.
Plenty of Oversteps poets are reading at Ways with Words at Dartington in the next fortnight, including Christopher North, Simon Williams, Susan Taylor and Miriam Darlington. Then on Saturday 13th there will be Oversteps events all day, featuring John Daniels, Kathleen Kummer, Jean Atkin, Charles Bennett, Oz Hardwick, Alwyn Marriage, Genista Lewes, Jennie Osborne and the singer-songwriter Zoë Marriage.
Denise Bennett won first prize in the Hastings Poetry Competition, and Alwyn Marriage was highly commended.
Alwyn Marriage was recently Highly Commended in the Perform Poetry Competition.
Wenlock Poetry Festival reading by Oversteps poets at 4.45pm on Saturday 6th April.
Alwyn Marriage will be on the Poetry and Publishing panel at the New Writers’ Festival in Guildford, on Saturday 16th March at 11.45am.
Alwyn Marriage will be reading at Poetry Live, Taupo, New Zealand in the last of her New Zealand readings.
New Zealand will be welcoming three Oversteps poets for a series of readings between 19th and 24th February. Hilary Elfick, Charles Hadfield and Alwyn Marriage will be appearing at a variety of venues in Auckland and the Bay of Islands.
