  • Alwyn Marriage and James Harpur will be appearing at this year’s Torbay Poetry Festival on Saturday 29th October at 3.15pm.



  • Alwyn Marriage will be appearing at the Guildford Book Festival at 19.30 on Friday 19th October at St Mary’s Church, Quarry Street, Guildford. The evening will also include lieder and English songs by  the baritone Peter Terry, accompanied on the piano by Emily Hooker.

  • ‘Sunrise from Blue Thunder’, an international anthology about Japan, published in aid of the victims of the tsanami and nuclear disaster last year, has just been published by Pirene’s Fountain. Two poems by Alwyn Marriage, ‘Tsunami’ and ‘The Price of Nuclear Energy’ are included in it.



  • Alwyn Marriage’s poem, ‘The Clue lies in the Lady’s Toe’, has been awarded 2nd prize in the Bedford Open Poetry Competition.



  • Alwyn Marriage’s poem, ‘When my eyes shrank the fat man’, which was published in Orbis this summer, has won third prize in the Readers’ Award 155.
    Her poem ‘O’ was awarded a distinction in the Mere Poetry Competition 2011; and her poem ‘Cherry Orchard’ was selected for publication on the Guardian Poetry Workshop Website, September 2011, when the subject was Archaeology.
