  • Robert Stein was commended in this year’s National Poetry Competition, for his poem ‘Hommage de M Erik Satie a Soi-Meme’. Robert’s collection, ‘The Very End of Air’ was published by Oversteps Books in 2011.



  • Angela Stoner has won the first Poetry Out Loud competition



  • A C Clarke continues to win an exceptional number of prizes. She has recently been awarded 1st prize in the Second Light competition, long poem category, 2nd prize in the Fred Downie competition, and a commendation in the McLellan poetry competition.



  • Congratulations to Anne Stewart (The Janus Hour, 2010) who was longlisted in the National Poetry Competition this year.



  • Ann Kelley has had a batch of competition successes recently. She was shortlisted in the Live Canon 2011 Poetry Prize, the Bridport Priz and the Troubadour International Poetry Prize.



  • A C Clarke was highly commended in the Sonnet or Not competition, judged by John Alcock.



  • Christopher North was awarded third prize in the recent Magma competition.



  • Christopher North’s poem ‘Tafarmach Idyll’ was a runner up in ┬áthe Yorkshire poetry competition.



  • Alwyn Marriage’s poem, ‘The Clue lies in the Lady’s Toe’, has been awarded 2nd prize in the Bedford Open Poetry Competition.



  • Ann Kelley had two poems shortlisted in the Bridport competition, and won a prize in the Troubadour competition. Her new book, ‘Telling the Bees’, will be out shortly, and contains these prize-winning poems.
