  • Alwyn Marriage’s poem, ‘When my eyes shrank the fat man’, which was published in Orbis this summer, has won third prize in the Readers’ Award 155.
    Her poem ‘O’ was awarded a distinction in the Mere Poetry Competition 2011; and her poem ‘Cherry Orchard’ was selected for publication on the Guardian Poetry Workshop Website, September 2011, when the subject was Archaeology.



  • A C Clarke continues to win an impressive number of prizes. Most recently she has won the Stirling Council OfftheStanza competition, with her winning poem then being chosen as poem of the month on the Stirling council website; she was awarded third prize in the Ilkley Fetival Poetry Competition; and was commended in the Poetry on the Lake formal class for the second year running. Her pamphlet on the Anatomy Museum in Glasgow, ‘A Natural Curiosity’, will be launched at the museum on 22nd November.



  • Christopher North has won second prize in the Yorkshire Poetry Competition.



  • A C Clarke has been highly commended in the Sonnet or Not competition and her poem published in The Cannon’s Mouth. She was also commended in the Ver poets competition, John Cotton’s Ten-Liners. A sequence of four of her poems appear in the latest issue of Acumen and four more will be published in the Glasgow-based magazine, Gutter.

    Oz Hardwick has a poem included in the forthcoming Indigo Dreams anthology, Soul Feathers, in which a number of well-known poets have contributed poems in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. He will be in illustrious company, as the other poets include Carol Ann Duffy, Seamus Heaney, Bob Dylan, Benjamin Zephaniah, Leonard Cohen, Sharon Olds and Maya Angelou. Price £11.
