  • A C Clarke will be giving an illustrated talk with poems to the Humanist Society. July 2nd at 7.30pm at the Mercure Hotel, Edinburgh.



  • Alwyn Marriage read at the Wenlock Poetry Festival as part of a performance by poets in the Shropshire Butterfly anthology.



  • Joan McGavin will be reading with Julian Stannard at the Stripe Theatre Theatre Studio 2, the University of Winchester on Monday 5 December at 6.30p.m.  Entrance free. Bookstall.



  • Ann Segrave recently organized and participated in a reading at the Linklater Pavilion in Lewes which raised £270 for the Wildlife Trust.



  • Maggie Butt gave two presentations on her book, ‘Ally Pally Prison Camp’ at the Open Day at Alexandra Palace on 27th September. Both were extremely well-attended and greatly enjoyed.



  • At this year’s Ways with Words Festival at Dartington, there was a whole day of exciting Oversteps activities. There were readings from several of our poets; talks on combining the writing of poetry with other careers; presentations on some of our more unusual publications; and a beautiful session of guitar music and poetry. Everyone agreed that the day had been very enjoyable and a huge success.



  • ‘Ally Pally Prison Camp’ by Maggie Butt, is on the Poetry Kit ‘five books for summer reading’ list; and Maggie will be giving a talk on her book for BBC Radio London’s Arts and Cultural programme this coming Monday afternoon.



  • Ann Segrave was recently invited to read to a group of Creative Writing students from Rutgers, when they were visiting for a Writing and Rambling course. As several of Ann’s poems in ‘Aviatarix’ were inspired by the Sussex landscape, this was highly appropriate.



  • Michael Swan, Caroline Carver and Alwyn Marriage gave a reading last week at the beautiful Walpole Old Chapel in Suffolk.



  • Denise Bennett’s book, ‘Painting the Snow Queen’ was launched at the United Reform Church in Havant on 23rd June. Denise read from her book, and was supported by the local harpist, John Corin.
